Why New Menu Training?

New menu training is essential for a chef-driven restaurant like BelAir Cantina, regular menu changes ensure that all staff, from the kitchen to the front of house, are well-versed in the latest offerings. This type of training streamlines knowledge transfer, allowing back of house staff to effectively communicate the intricacies and inspirations behind new dishes to the front of house team. As a result, servers can deliver a more informed and cohesive dining experience to customers, enhancing the restaurant's overall service quality.

Diving into the Module

BelAir Cantina's training module is a prime example of effective training in Opus as it showcases new menus across food and beverage, including discussions on new weekly programming like special events, LTOs, and promotions. The training leads with video narration by Jack Woznick, Training Director, adding a personal touch that enhances engagement and accountability. Additionally, the module includes a supportive validation step with a manager check-in before the final exam to address any trainee questions.

Seasonal refreshes 🍽️

As a full service restaurant, Belair Cantina routinely trains on new menus across food and beverage and uses it as an opportunity to discuss weekly programming (special events, LTOs & promotions).

Personable 💁🏻‍♂️

Jack's narration brings a human connection that you get in live training at scale. Building that relationship at scale creates better accountability and engagement. Employees feel more accountable to people they know.

Supportive validation ✅

A check-in is included at the end of the module so that team members have the opportunity to meet with a manager before the final “exam”. This gives managers the chance to gut check/answer any questions for trainees and verify that they're up to speed on the new menu.
